The designer of DIANA, PRINCESS OF WALES' wedding dress is furious after discovering an identical spare is being sold at auction.

ELIZABETH EMANUEL, who made the spectacular gowns with her then-husband DAVID, let London wax museum MADAME TUSSAUDS have the spare for a nominal fee to display with its model of Diana, following her 1981 wedding to PRINCE CHARLES.

Now Tussauds wants to offload the dress at auction in London in December (05) - and because it was worn by the princess during fittings it is expected to sell for more than $90,000 (GBP50,000)

But Elizabeth Emanuel insists it should remain in a museum.

She tells British newspaper the Daily Mail, "We only charged a nominal fee, a few thousand pounds to cover the cost of the materials. To find out that they are now flogging our work is astounding.

"The princess hoped it would be a small piece of history that would be put on display for the world to enjoy.

"Why can't they donate it to a museum?"
