DEMI MOORE - DEMI MOORE EXPLAINS HER STRIPPING PAST

Actress DEMI MOORE opted to strip on screen in STRIPTEASE and DISCLOSURE - in a bid to overcome her insecurities.

The screen stunner, 40, currently dating 25-year-old heartthrob ASHTON KUTCHER, peeled off for a number of movie roles in the 1990s and also posed nude and pregnant of the cover of VOGUE magazine.

But Demi insists none of her antics were based on exhibitionism - she just wanted to feel better about her body.

She says, "People assumed it was me trying to be provocative, or trying to help my career, when really it was an effort to overcome huge, huge insecurities with my body, and having had huge struggles with my weight."

After the 1997 flick GI JANE, Demi says she calmed down about her body, explaining, "I literally stopped doing anything" - including dieting and exercising.

She adds, "It was time to put down the measuring stick. I had to work toward what would be an emotional haven."
