BRIAN DE PALMA - DE PALMA MOVIE SET FOR REMAKE

NEWS BY ARTIST ALPHABETICALLY

Veteran film director BRIAN DE PALMA's 1973 movie SISTERS is set for a remade, with film-maker DOUGLAS BUCK claiming he will fill his project with both "style and substance". The remake will star French actress LOU DOILLON, CHLOE SEVIGNY and STEPHEN REA in the lead roles, and Buck promises fans of the original movie they will learn much more about the central characters. Buck tells Empireonline, "In the original film, which I love, De Palma chose style over substance. I'm interested in exploring all the other stuff that's there - the perversity, the tragedy, the sadness. "All those character traits make it, to me, more interesting. I want to make the characters more alive." The story focuses on sibling rivalry between orphan twins who are separated after being raised by nuns.
