ROBERT DE NIRO is determined to go ahead with the sequel to movie MEET THE PARENTS, despite recently being diagnosed with cancer.

The OSCAR-winner revealed he is suffering prostate cancer this week (begs20OCT03) - and has postponed filming on his next film HIDE AND SEEK so he can receive treatment.

But De Niro is adamant he'll be fit in time to reprise his role as JACK BYRNES in MEET THE FOCKERS, and has okayed a mid March 2004 start date.

BEN STILLER has also signed to reappear in the new comedy.

Doctors, meanwhile, expect De Niro to make a full recovery, because the deadly disease was detected early.
