TAXI - DANZA TO BE A GRANDDAD

Former TAXI star TONY DANZA was given a huge surprise on his chat show yesterday morning (02FEB04) - when his son informed him he was going to become a grandfather.

Danza, 53, invited his eldest offspring MARC IADANZA, 33, on THE TONY DANZA SHOW for a SUPER BOWL-themed cooking segment.

But partway in, the focus soon changed drastically when Marc told his dad, "You're going to be a grandpa!"

A stunned Danza replied, "Am I supposed to do the rest of the show now?"

Marc's pregnant wife JULIE later called into the show, as well as Danza's wife, TRACY, and his 11-year-old daughter, EMILY.

Danza says, "Last night my son and I went out to dinner. We had sort of a fatherhood dinner. We talked about being a father.

"He was born when I was 19 and we sort of grew up together and that was good, but I think he's right at the right age, about 34, just old enough... I'm excited."
