Veteran actor CHARLES DANCE received an Order Of The British Empire (OBE) from QUEEN ELIZABETH II yesterday (16JUN06). The GOSFORD PARK star was one of several film-makers to be honoured in the monarch's 80th birthday honours list. BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM director GURINDER CHADHA also collected an OBE, as did actor RUDOLPH WALKER, best known for his role in TV soap EASTENDERS. DAVID SPROXTON, co-founder of AARDMAN ANIMATIONS, the company behind the Oscar-winning WALLACE + GROMIT movies, was made a Commander Of The British Empire (CBE). Last month (MAY06), DEATH WISH director MICHAEL WINNER turned his OBE because it's "what you get if you clean toilets".
