MATT DAMON is heading the pack in the race to play cycling champion LANCE ARMSTRONG - even the Tour De France hero wants the actor to play him.
The BOURNE SUPREMACY star is a lifelong cycling fan and has become a friend of Armstrong's in recent years.
The cyclist, who is currently competing for his seventh Tour De France victory, says, "I've had the chance to get to know Matt Damon. He is a fan of cycling. He has expressed an interest in the role."
