Actor JEREMY RENNER convinced locals in a small Milwaukee, Wisconsin town he was shooting a biopic about DURAN DURAN star SIMON LE BON on their doorstep, because he didn't want them to know he was playing serial killer JEFFREY DAHMER. The NORTH COUNTRY star, who bears a striking resemblance to Le Bon, feared he'd upset residents if they found out he was playing Milwaukee's most notorious killer - and so he used his likeness to the RIO singer to fool them. Renner explains, "We were in the neighbourhood, right across the street, from where the apartment building was where Dahmer lived. "People were curious, asking, 'What are you filming, what are you filming?' I'm like, 'It's actually a Simon Le Bon story.' "Then they'd ask, 'What's he doing in Milwaukee?' I'm like, 'His tourbus breaks down and he kind of gets into a bit of alcohol trouble.'" Dahmer was born in Wisconsin and became infamous after embarking on a killing spree, eating some of his victims. Between 1978 and 1991 it was estimated he butchered 17 men.
