Spanish actress PENELOPE CRUZ will always turn down Hollywood roles in favour of working with her compatriot PEDRO ALMODOVAR, because he is her favourite director. The VANILLA SKY beauty, who has also appeared in BLOW and CAPTAIN CORELLI'S MANDOLIN, first came to international attention after working with Almodovar on 1999's ALL ABOUT MY MOTHER. The 32-year-old says, "(Almodovar) is my favourite director and it's a gift, this character.
