Movie superstar TOM CRUISE is so satisfied with his place in front of the cameras, he has no plans to try his hand at directing.
Unlike many of his Hollywood contemporaries - such as GEORGE CLOONEY, JODIE FOSTER, CLINT EASTWOOD and ROBERT REDFORD - the A-list actor, who has worked with legendary filmmakers like OLIVER STONE and STANLEY KUBRICK, is quite happy sticking with acting.
He says, "As a director? Me? Maybe one day I will, and I'm not saying that I won't, but I just don't have anything that I need to say. I would like to do it but I don't feel, 'I'm a director, I must direct!'
"I like the relationship as an actor with a director. I enjoy it as much as the producer/director relationship. That dynamic is fun, trying to figure out, 'What is it this guy wants? What am I looking for here?'
"You're supporting that vision and learning from it. And challenging each other. I enjoy that process tremendously."
