CINDY CRAWFORD - CRAWFORD COSMETICS HIT A GLITCH?

Former supermodel CINDY CRAWFORD has hit back at suggestions her new skin care line MEANINGFUL BEAUTY is failing to meet sales expectations.

The stunning star recently made three appearances on shopping channel QVC to preview the range - but sales of just $100,000 (GBP62,500) have already caused insiders to predict disaster.

But Crawford - who is married to entrepreneur RANDE GERBER - insists the products are 18 months away from being ready to sell en masse, and the QVC guest spots were simply a "sneak peak".

But WWD BEAUTY BIZ magazine editor ANDREA NAGEL believes that Crawford's elevated celebrity status will kill her chances of retail success.

She says, "When someone as distant (as Crawford) comes on, someone so untouchable, I think it's hard for (viewers) to believe that buying a product she represents will ever make them look like her."
