COLDPLAY star CHRIS MARTIN harbours a secret dream to appear on hit US house renovation show EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION - because he's a big fan.

The CLOCKS singer insists he doesn't need a makeover on any of his homes, but he'd like to book an appearance on the ABC show, and he's gone so far as to ask TV bosses to consider it.

He says, "Maybe someone one day will be a Coldplay fan. That show, to me, is like taking one of the worst sides of our culture - reality TV - and crossing it with the best side of human nature.

"It makes me cry everytime."

On the show, a crew of designers and builders - led by presenter TY PENNINGTON - join forces to renovate the homes of families who have fallen on hard times.
