COLDPLAY - COLDPLAY'S CHRIS MARTIN LOVES THE LIMELIGHT

COLDPLAY frontman CHRIS MARTIN is an attention-seeker who will do anything to be in the limelight.

The star is the most recognisable member of the British band - and he insists he has always wanted to be centre of attention.

Martin - who is married to actress GWYNETH PALTROW - tells TIME OUT magazine, "I suppose I asked for it by marrying Gwyneth. But it's just our personalities. There's a reason Guy picked up the bass and I'm the singer. I played keyboards in a band once and I hated it.

"To be a frontman you have to be half very driven and half a total knob. I like to think I'm both."

But Martin is determined not to trade on his marriage to one of Hollywood's biggest stars.

He adds, "We don't do anything in public. I'm not interested in going on the cover of OK! (celebrity magazine) and telling 'the truth about my relationship'. I don't give a s**t if someone thinks I sleep with a cucumber up my bum 'cos it's healing."
