Rockers COLDPLAY have taken a bold step in their drive to embrace urban music - they've teamed up with hit garage act THE STREETS on a new song.
Lead singer CHRIS MARTIN - who's dating Hollywood star GWYNETH PALTROW - has recorded a track with THE STREETS guru MIKE SKINNER, one of sixty the prolific Coldplay frontman has penned for his band's next album.
Martin explains his eagerness to write tunes and indulge in cross-genre collaborations stems from his fear of dying.
He says, "We've been writing songs for this next record for 18 months now and we've probably written about 60. We did a song with The Streets.
"As soon as we finished our huge world tour last year (02), we went straight into the studio to get these ideas down in case we died or something before they were recorded.
"I'm gonna die one day so I want to have written lots of songs."
