COLDPLAY frontman CHRIS MARTIN is afraid that their upcoming album X+Y may be their last.

Coldplay's debut album PARACHUTES sold 5 million copies, and 2003's follow-up A RUSH OF BLOOD TO THE HEAD sold a staggering 10 million copies worldwide, making them one of the most successful British acts of the last 20 years.

With their third disc hitting stores in June (05), the YELLOW singer fears that if it's another huge hit, the stress of success may drive the band apart.

Martin, 28, says "Traditionally, if anyone else agrees that it's the best thing ever, then we have to stop.

"It'd be nice to just leave it as the trilogy, y'know? It's be nice to just have the three records, and then go and do work experience in TIMBALAND's studio."

Martin, married to OSCAR winner GWYNETH PALTROW, also fears tabloid exposure will overshadow Coldplay's releases and the band's success will make their music bland.
