GEORGE CLOONEY - CLOONEY'S A BIG BOOST TO DAD'S POLITICAL AMBITIONS

GEORGE CLOONEY has raised $600,000 (GBP333,000) for his father NICK's political campaign.

The movie star has confessed MICHAEL DOUGLAS and RENEE ZELLWEGER are among the star names who have helped fund the campaign.

But not all has been going well in Clooney's quest to support his dad as he runs for office - the pair were forced to jump into a taxi in pursuit of a New York fundraiser when their car battery ran flat.

Nick Clooney admits he's thrilled to have his superstar son on the campaign trail with him, but he doesn't want him to give up his movie career to be a more permanent running mate.

He says, "He has to keep working; he's my retirement plan."
