GEORGE CLOONEY - CLOONEY SNR LOSES ELECTION BID

GEORGE CLOONEY's father NICK has lost his bid to be elected the congressional representative for Kentucky.

Democrat Clooney Snr was beaten by his Republican opponent GEOFF DAVIS, who scored 55 per cent of the vote, against Clooney's 44 per cent.

The OCEAN'S ELEVEN actor helped promote his dad's campaign and rallied support and funding from a number of Hollywood pals, including MEG RYAN, SALMA HAYEK, RENEE ZELLWEGER and STEVEN SPIELBERG.

Before trying his hand at politics, Nick Clooney was a TV anchorman and newspaper columnist.
