GEORGE CLOONEY made a homeless man's day last night (07FEB06), when he thrust a wad of bank notes into his hand after a chance meeting in a London street.

The Oscar nominated star had just finished dining at the British capital's fashionable Nobu restaurant and was walking back to the Dorchester Hotel when he asked his security team to hand over a fistful of American dollars.

After hugging the grateful vagrant, Clooney went on his way, stopping periodically to chat to fans and paparazzi photographers.
