LATEST: The French lawsuit against Hollywood star GEORGE CLOONEY and Warner Brothers has been delayed until 29 May (06) for procedural reasons. Clooney, who won Best Supporting Actor at this year's Academy Awards (06) for his role in oil thriller SYRIANA, is being sued by screenwriter STEPHANIE VERGNIAULT over allegations the film was copied. The OCEANS ELEVEN star claims to have drawn inspiration from CIA agent ROBERT BAER's book SEE NO EVIL, but Vergniault insists Clooney stole from her 2002 script called OVERSIGHT. Vergniault is demanding 35 per cent of the film's earnings in France and the United States. A Warner Bros spokesman has slammed her accusations as "without merit", adding, "We will defend our position in court."
