INTOLERABLE CRUELTY star GEORGE CLOONEY is angry the current political climate in America forces him to keep his views to himself.

The Hollywood heart-throb is dismayed by his country's shift to the right but cannot voice his opinions without fierce criticism from GEORGE W BUSH supporters.

He says, "There's a Hollywood versus heartland issue right now, so I've decided to keep quiet.

"I don't know when 'liberal' became a dirty word. We now have the 'compassionate conservatives'. Maybe we should call ourselves the 'flaming liberals' or perhaps the 'vicious liberals' is better?"
