LATEST: GEORGE CLOONEY has hit back at British press reports which claim he was involved in a near-drunken scuffle with a security guard outside the London premiere of his new film on Thursday night (03NOV05).
London's Evening Standard newspaper reported yesterday (04NOV05) that the movie star started ranting at a guard in an alleyway after he was left waiting for a car to pick him and onoff girlfriend LISA SNOWDEN up as they left the screening.
The story alleged Clooney threatened to fight the security guard, after screaming, "I'll f**king have you," and had to be restrained by Snowden.
But Clooney insists the story is a pack of lies, and the only truth is he attended a premiere in London last night and got into a heated argument.
His publicist STAN ROSENFELD storms, "The reports... are inaccurate.
"George did not get into a fight with a security guard. He did not say `I will have you.' However, he did get into argument with someone connected with the movie... someone being unkind to a woman. While no punches were thrown, George told the person to knock it off."
Clooney also agreed to clear his name on US TV newscasts last night (04NOV05), insisting he reacted to bad behaviour: "I won't stand by while someone is being insulted and maligned. No person I know would."
