Hollywood star GEORGE CLOONEY tried to follow in his father's footsteps and become a journalist, but found he wasn't clever enough.
Clooney's dad, former TV anchorman and newspaper columnist NICK CLOONEY, encouraged him into the industry and even gave him a break - but the actor soon realised he wasn't up to the task.
The OCEAN'S ELEVEN star says, "I was just not bright enough. There's an advantage when your father's an anchorman. I immediately got a job working on a television show and being able to do some reporting.
"Of course, the problem with that is I had none of the skills that the other people had. So it taught me very quickly that I needed to get some life experience before I could ever have done it."
