GEORGE CLOONEY duped the extras who turned up to work on his new movie GOOD NIGHT, GOOD LUCK, by filming them while they waited for the shoot to start - and then sending them home.

The smart actor/director was desperate to make his extras to be as natural as possible, so he shot them secretly while they were waiting to start work.

He explains, "We had 250 background artists and the actors and we had the cameras back behind a wall and they were just sitting there and we said, 'Give everyone cigarettes and a drink.'

"They all smoked and drank and they thought they were waiting to start and we shot for an hour... and just sent them all home and we got exactly what we needed."
