Hollywood hunk GEORGE CLOONEY holds former American president BILL CLINTON's affair with MONICA LEWINSKY inadvertently responsible for the war in Iraq.

The SOLARIS star believes the ex-premiere's frolics with the former White House intern meant vice president AL GORE had to distance himself from the shamed leader.

And Clooney claims this ultimately led to current president GEORGE W BUSH - who gave the Middle East conflict the go-ahead - beating Gore in the 2000 election.

He says, "It's ridiculous - Lewinsky performs a sex act on the president therefore we attack Iraq."
