BILL CLINTON - CLINTON SLEPT ON THE SOFA

Former US President BILL CLINTON spent two months sleeping on a sofa after he admitted his affair with intern MONICA LEWINSKY to his wife HILLARY.

Clinton makes the admission in his forthcoming memoirs, MY LIFE, adding his affair was "the darkest part of my inner life," and calling it, "a terrible moral error."

The Clintons, and their daughter CHELSEA, signed up for family counselling as the scandal unfolded.

Clinton's book is released on Tuesday (22JUN04), with preorders exceeding two million copies.
