KELLY CLARKSON - CLARKSON NO FAN OF AWARD CEREMONIES

Grammy-nominee KELLY CLARKSON is too embarrassed to approach her music idols when she attends glitzy award shows, because has no idea what to say to them in person.

The singer, who is scheduled to perform at next week's extravaganza (08FEB06), is happy to talk if she happens to run into someone, but she won't seek them out.

She says, "I'm not good at that. What do you say? 'I love your music. You're such an inspiration to me.'

"And then you're done. Then there is an awkward pause."
