Original AMERICAN IDOL winner KELLY CLARKSON believes her 2003 movie FROM JUSTIN TO KELLY was "destined for failure" - because she had the stigma of coming from a reality show.
SINCE U BEEN GONE singer Clarkson and American Idol runner-up JUSTIN GUARINI were cast in the critically-panned musical by bosses who had hoped to cash in on the success of the TV smash.
And two years later, Clarkson is eager to let fans know that she had no choice about starring in the film - even though she knew it would never be a hit.
She says, "I legally had to do that.
"It wouldn't have mattered if we would have got the script for THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION - nobody was gonna like that movie with two TV stars, two kids. It was destined for failure."
