CHARLOTTE CHURCH desperately wishes she could sound more like American singers NIKKA COSTA or JEFF BUCKLEY, but she is too scared to take risks when performing.

The Welsh 19-year-old admires both performers for their interesting voices but is afraid to try and emulate their vocal tricks unless she gets fed up touring her new pop album TISSUES AND ISSUES.

Speaking of Buckley, Church says, "There's not many people who can just skank out like that with their voice. I can't do it. I'm scared I'll hit a wrong note and it'll sound weird.

"Nikka Costa is the same, just skanks out and starts screaming about whatever she feels. You've got to be so comfortable to do that, and you've got to be a bit of a nutter as well, especially to hit some of the note they hit. When I start touring and get bored of doing the same thing every night, I'll probably start skanking out a bit more then."
