COLDPLAY - CHRIS MARTIN'S U2 BATHROOM DREAMS

COLDPLAY star CHRIS MARTIN had a bizarre pastime as a youngster - he regularly hid in bathrooms to read about Irish rockers U2.

The YELLOW singer, currently dating Hollywood actress GWYNETH PALTROW, admits he used to fantasise about becoming a rock star before meeting his Coldplay bandmates - and the bathroom was where many of his dreams would come alive.

He says, "Before I met the others, I used to go to a friend's house on school holiday. He was in boarding school with me and... You know this is a very unsexy story. I probably wouldn't have told it at one time, but I've got a girlfriend now so...

"I would hide in the bathroom and read about U2, and my friend and I would think about being in a band like that some day.

"The whole idea was so unlikely that the story is hysterical."
