CHI-LITES singer EUGENE RECORD died of cancer on Friday (22JUL05). He was 64.

The tenor voiced star was best known for a series of soul classics with the Chi-Lites, including OH GIRL and HAVE YOU SEEN HER?. He also released three solo albums.

Chi-Lites track ARE YOU MY WOMAN (TELL ME SO), a song written by Record, provided BEYONCE KNOWLES with a horn sample for her worldwide hit CRAZY IN LOVE.

It is currently unknown where Record passed away. He is survived by his wife JACKIE.
