BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM - CHADHA CONFIRMS DALLAS

LATEST: BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM director GURINDER CHADHA has confirmed she'll direct the movie adaptation of TV soap DALLAS with JOHN TRAVOLTA and JENNIFER LOPEZ as her leading stars. The British film-maker revealed this morning (21APR06) that she signed a deal with 20th Century Fox to take charge of the much-anticipated project, which will start shooting in Florida in October (06). Travolta will play oil tycoon JR EWING in the movie, while Lopez will portray his long-suffering wife SUE ELLEN. The roles were originally performed by LARRY HAGMAN and LINDA GRAY. Meanwhile, Chadha is also set to adapt another hit TV show into a big screen film - the BRIDE + PREJUDICE director is also planning to rework I DREAM OF JEANNIE, which was another television project which starred Hagman.
