Film-makers are resurrecting cult British comedy franchise CARRY ON for a 32nd movie starring VINNIE JONES, VICTORIA SILVSTEDT and British soap star SHANE RICHIE. The slapstick movies were hugely popular in the late 1950s, 1960s and 1970s and made stars of actors SID JAMES, KENNETH WILLIAMS, BARBARA WINDSOR and HATTIE JACQUES. They centred heavily on innuendo - titles included CARRY ON... UP THE KHYBER and CARRY ON DOCTOR. The last attempt, CARRY ON COLUMBUS, flopped at the box office in 1993, but producers are convinced they can successfully breathe life into the franchise and have secured a GBP6.4 million ($11.5 million) budget. The film - which is being shot in London this summer (06) - will be directed by PETER RICHARDSON. Carry On creator PETER ROGERS, who is now 92, will be executive producer.
