DREW CAREY - CAREY: 'OSCARS ARE STUPID'

Comedian DREW CAREY is sick of awards shows like the OSCARS because he doesn't see why the rich and famous should be honoured for just doing their jobs.

The funnyman chooses to ignore celebrity prizegivings and never attends them because he thinks he owes it to the common man to stay away.

He rants, "I think they're stupid. I don't know why we make such a big deal out of people doing their job. Why in the world would anybody want to watch a parade of rich people that have more than anybody else has getting another trinket for doing their f**king job?

"You have to watch to see the jewels you can't afford and the clothes you can't afford and see how much better they are than you. I just get fed up with it so I just ignore it.

"I never cared for them when I was a civilian and I really don't care for them now that I see how the sausage is made."
