LOU DIAMOND PHILLIPS - CARD CRAZY LOU LANDS POKER SHOW

Movie star LOU DIAMOND PHILLIPS has become such a card shark, he's hosting a new TV poker show.

The LA BAMBA star, who is the youngest member of a Wednesday night poker league which includes old-timers ED ASNER and CHARLES DURNING, has been signed to host a new `How To' show on America's TRAVEL CHANNEL.

But Phillips thinks it's his losing ways, not his card skills that earned him the presenting job.

He explains, "I played a celebrity invitational on the World Poker Tour and I was playing against JOHNNIE CHAN. We had a head-to-head and we're playing Five Card Texas Hold. "I got a pair of eights and I think I'm sitting pretty, so I bet big and he checked and raised me. $15,000 (GBP10,000) later he gutted me.

"I lost so much and they asked me to host a how not to lose at poker show. I'm a good pick - I lose all over."
