Model and actress CAPRICE has won a court battle against a British tabloid newspaper that labelled her a "gold-digger".
The article, published by the DAILY STAR in December 2002, made allegations, which led to Caprice hiring defamation specialist PETER CARTER-RUCK to sue the paper.
The paper has to pay "substantial" damages and her legal costs, as well as print an apology.
On Saturday (05APR03) the newspaper printed the apology - alongside a full-page picture of Caprice in blue underwear.
The apology said, "Oops! Our December 17 article headlined Dump Caprice or Lose a Fortune stated that her boyfriend's family thought she was a gold-digger, and would cut him off unless he dumped her.
"It also included a number of other hurtful allegations. We accept that these allegations are untrue and we apologise for any embarrassment."
