Singer LINDA NOLAN has staged a remarkable musical comeback, just weeks after having surgery to remove a four-inch (10-centimetre) tumour in her left breast. The former THE NOLANS star reprised her lead role in musical BLOOD BROTHERS on Monday night (01MAY06) at Bournemouth, England's Pavilion Theatre, and insisted the experience was "fabulous". The 47-year-old underwent a partial mastectomy in February (06) after being diagnosed with 11 cancerous lymph nodes as well as the tumour. She will now undergo a series of exhausting chemotherapy and radiotherapy sessions, while continuing her theatre run. Nolan says, "The opening night was fabulous. I was nervous but it was great. I was welcomed back with open arms. "Ten weeks ago I had my operation. I haven't had the all clear yet, but the signs are all great. "It's devastating for any person diagnosed with this illness but you just have to be positive and get on with it. I had great support from family, friends, my husband and support from people I don't even know because of the business I am in." Both Nolan's husband and sister have also suffered cancer in recent years.
