Scottish singer DAVID BYRNE often gets mistaken for a cop when he photographs security cameras, which in turn are surveilling him.

The former TALKING HEADS frontman - who also gets mistaken for a robber - enjoys taking pictures of CCTV cameras in a creative capacity and likes it when people don't know who he is.

Byrne explains, "For several years I have been photographing security cameras as an art project.

"Store owners freak out and think I am casing the joint for a robbery or they think I am a cop.

"Being mistaken for a cop makes me feel powerful."

He adds that some store owners "become so enraged that they want to attack me.

"What's more, I doubt I will ever manage to sell a single one of these photographs."
