Scottish rising star GERARD BUTLER is moving to New York - in a bid to keep his career flourishing.
The 34-year-old - who will next be seen in the title role in JOEL SCHUMACHER's PHANTOM OF THE OPERA - is one of the names in contention to take over the role of JAMES BOND from PIERCE BROSNAN.
Butler is hoping to buy an apartment in Manhattan's fashionable Chelsea district, home to a host of big names including ETHAN HAWKE.
