Actor WILL KEMP suffered for his art while making new action horror film VAN HELSING - he was bitten by spiders and needed to be treated for cuts and bruises.

The British ballet star-turned-actor plays werewolf prince VELKAN in the movie, which also stars HUGH JACKMAN and KATE BECKINSALE, and became so engrossed in his hairy character he needed medical treatment on the set.

He explains, "We were in Frankenstein's castle and they had everything you could possibly imagine, except the one thing they forgot was a rubber floor.

"I was wearing practically nothing, flailing around on the concrete floor and transforming. I said, 'What about the rubber floor we talked about?' I still have all the scars to prove it.

"I also got covered in spider bites from the woods in Los Angeles when we were shooting the outdoor scenes.

"I guess that's part of the process and I'm probably still naive enough to say, 'It's my job, I'm fine, I'll do it!'"
