MARLON BRANDO requested doctors to allow him to die after his disease-ravaged body began to crumble.

The GODFATHER actor, who died aged 80 on 1 July 2004, refused permission for tubes to be inserted to carry oxygen to his lungs and ordered medical staff to forego reviving him as he faced his last moments.

Brando's death certificate reveals he had a massive inoperable tumour - thought to be a malignant cancer - on his liver.

He was also suffering Hepatitis C, inflamed lungs and thickened and inflamed air sacs.
