BILLY BRAGG - BRAGG LAUNCHES ANTI-BNP TOUR

Rocker BILLY BRAGG yesterday (06APR06) launched a UK tour as part of a campaign against Right-wing political group the British National Party (BNP). Bragg's Hope, Not Hate tour is backed by members from all the mainstream UK political parties and will play in towns which are currently being targeted by a BNP 'big push' for votes in the country's forthcoming local elections. Bragg last month (MAR06) fought the BNP over the release of a race-hate album, which gave WOODY GUTHRIE's hit THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND a fascist slant. In the late 1990s, Bragg recorded two albums using Guthrie lyrics with US band WILCO.
