Troubled singer BOY GEORGE faces possible imprisonment after failing to turn up to court yesterday (16JUN06). The former CULTURE CLUB frontman - real name GEORGE O'DOWD - missed the hearing in New York. He was due to appear to ask for the terms of his sentence to be changed. In March (06), George pleaded guilty to wasting police time by falsely reporting a burglary last year (OCT05). The troubled 44-year-old was sentenced to five days of community service and ordered to attend a drug rehabilitation programme. But at yesterday's hearing furious judge ANTHONY FERRARA criticised George for failing to pay a GBP600 ($1100) fine and warned his lawyer the singer could face time in prison if he doesn't show up in court on 26 June. Ferrara said, "I put people in jail who don't pay fines. Why shouldn't I do that?"
