CATE BLANCHETT - BLANCHETT: 'I WANT TO PLAY HEPBURN AGAIN'

CATE BLANCHETT is so obsessed with KATHERINE HEPBURN after playing her in THE AVIATOR - she wants to star in a remake of one of the late screen siren's most famous movies.

The Australian actress has been nominated for Best Supporting Actress at this year's (27FEB05) OSCARS ceremony for her portrayal of the AFRICAN QUEEN legend, but she suggests the HOWARD HUGHES biopic will not be her last portrayal of Hepburn.

The 35-year-old says, "As a fan, I had to scrutinise her. It's like learning another language - picking up the tone of her voice."

On the subject of becoming the new Hepburn, she says, "What an interesting idea - I've never thought of it. No one's sent me a script yet."
