LATEST: The jury in ROBERT BLAKE's murder trial has been told the actor had gunshot residue on his hands and clothes the night his wife was shot dead, although this evidence might be circumstantial.
Criminologist STEVEN DOWELL told the Los Angeles court the residue could have come from Blake's own gun, his firearms collection, the crime scene itself, or the police box his clothing was stored in.
Blake stands accused of killing his wife BONNY LEE BAKLEY outside Vitello's restaurant in Studio City, Los Angeles, in 2001.
He maintains his innocence, claiming he went back to the restaurant to retrieve a gun - not the murder weapon - he'd left behind and returned to the car to find his wife shot.
