Veteran film-maker BLAKE EDWARDS has slammed late screen legend CARY GRANT, because he was a "pain in the a**" to work with.
THE PINK PANTHER director also admits filming alongside INSPECTOR CLOUSEAU star PETER SELLERS was a traumatic experience, and his biggest fear is meeting up with the movie favourite in "hell".
Blake says, "I worked with some rather important people like Cary Grant, who was a pain in the a**. I admitted him but he just drove me absolutely crazy.
"Sellers, again, was another whole thing. You know, if I go to hell, the only thing I'm afraid of is if Sellers is going to be there."
But Blake's relationships with movie stars weren't all bad - he admired the professionalism of late ODD COUPLE star JACK LEMMON.
He adds, "Someone once asked me, some years ago, right at the height of my career, 'If you could only work with one actor, who would it be?'
"And without hesitation I said, 'Jack Lemmon,' because he just fitted everything for me. He was such a gentleman, such a nice guy, so funny, such a good actor."
