KISS KISS - BLACK WAS OVERPAID FOR LONG KISS GOODNIGHT

NEWS BY ARTIST ALPHABETICALLY

KISS KISS, BANG BANG director SHANE BLACK is still amazed he was paid $4 million (GBP2.2 million) for the screenplay for 1996 movie THE LONG KISS GOODNIGHT - because movie-makers rewrote almost the entire script.

Black became the highest paid movie writer in history when his idea about an assassin who suffers amnesia after an accident and regains her memory eight years later, was snapped up.

And he thinks he got a good deal.

He says, "I felt quite overpaid actually. They were like, 'We like the funny jokes. Get rid of the rest.' And I'm like, 'You bought some jokes for $4 million? Christ, I've got one here in my pocket - that's got to be good for at least two grand."
