THE BLACK EYED PEAS arrived in style for their appearance on MTV show TOTAL REQUEST LIVE yesterday (20APR06) - in a hybrid car. The environmentally friendly quartet stopped traffic in New York's Times Square when they pulled up in a red Honda Civic hybrid, driven by frontman WILL.I.AM. The rapper admitted he has been stunned with just how efficient the new car is, stating, "51 gallons to the mile, y'all. That's, like, crazy economically efficient." Confused Will.I.Am later confessed he'd made a mistake - the car actually runs at 51 miles to the gallon. Car firm Honda is sponsoring The Black Eyed Peas' current US tour. Singer FERGIE was forced to miss the TRL appearance because she was shooting the cover for her upcoming solo album. The MY HUMPS star phoned in to the show to wish her bandmates well.
