Acclaimed British actor and playwright STEVEN BERKOFF has attacked the state of television, dubbing it "cheap" and "rubbish". Despite recently appearing in mini-series' HOTEL BABYLON and NEW TRICKS, the BEVERLY HILLS COP star refuses to switch on and fears the effect TV has on children. He says, "I tend to see television having a very destructive influence on the young. "Television today is utterly appalling, demoralising, simplistic and forever dumbing down of people. It's an over sexualised kind of rubbish - not passionately sexual but cheaply sexual."
