AMERICAN PIE - BENING: I DIDN'T TAME BEATTY

AMERICAN PIE star ANNETTE BENING has slammed claims she tamed her actor husband WARREN BEATTY.

The couple first met in a Los Angeles restaurant in 1991 to discuss the film BUGSY, and Bening not only got the part of Bugsy's lover VIRGINA HILL, she got Beatty too - and pals claim he's never been the same since.

But Bening argues, "Well, people like to project things on you, but I, for one, never thought of it in terms of taming Warren and I never really worried what other people thought either.

"I was never wary of his wild reputation - all I was really concerned about were my feelings for him and his for me, rather than worrying about things in the past that I wasn't a part of."
