Italian movie mogul ROBERTO BENIGNI has sold off a major stake in the Rome studio where he made LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL and PINOCCHIO.

The OSCAR winner and his actress wife NICOLETTA BRASCHI (corr) converted a former steel mill into the studio facility, which has become one of Italy's leading locations.

The facility will now be taken over by Italy's historic CINECITTA (corr) STUDIOS.
